Light the Night Community Walk - Sept 29, 2018 at The Forks

Friends of Donovan Gayle will be walking in Winnipeg at the annual Light The Night Walk and we'd love for you to join us.  Light The Night is a community event held at twilight, where hundreds of people gather to show their support for those affected by blood cancers, remember loved ones lost to the disease and, most importantly, to raise critical funds for life-saving cancer research and patient services.

This is a great chance for us to show our support to those we know who are affected by a blood cancer like leukemia, lymphoma or Hodgkin’s disease. Join us and we will walk together to bring them a sense of hope.
Balling for the Cure
The event is located at The Forks Festival Grounds on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 5:00 PM.

If you or anyone else is interested in honouring Donovan Gayle and walking in our group please contact Sela at sela@basketballmanitoba.ca.
If you can’t join us, you can still help by sponsoring our team (Team Deebo) for this event in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. Special Blood Drive Event in
Memory of Donovan Gayle

The Balling for the Cure organization in partnership with Canadian Blood Services has announced two special blood drive days that have been set up in the memory of Donovan Gayle.  Donovan began the Balling for the Cure initiative in 2014 with an aim to raise funds, awareness and blood donations tied to his being diagnosed with leukemia.  Sadly, Donovan lost his battle with cancer this past December.  We are calling on the basketball communities of Winnipeg and Toronto to show their support for Donovan by attending the blood drive on...

Those wishing to make a blood donation must meet the eligibility as set by the Canadian Blood Services.

WINNIPEG EVENT

We encourage everyone to come out and support whether they can donate or not. Donovan’s family will be in attendance and would love to meet all the people that Debo has touched over the years.

Those interesting in supporting this can sign up by emailing your name to

TORONTO EVENT

“We would like to thank every one who signed up to
donate blood on Donovan's Birthday."
